While halfway thru the field last night, 706 suddenly wouldnt turn to the left, turns right but not left. Sticking valve? How big of a job to repair this, remember I will be doing this after my day job, time is of the essence.

While two wrongs don't make a right, I understand that three lefts will. Try that.

Had that problem on my S/A once. Turned out to be a bolt had backed out of the steering box & the arm couldn't get by it.

Well first ya have figure out just where the problem is , it could be in the valve on top of the speed trans that has the two lines going down in the top and the two lines off the side going up to the ft where the steering piston is or it could be in the hand pump under the steering wheel . Crack the lines going up to the hand pump off the top one at a time and turn the wheel and see what ya have there . I would say that there is something sticking that valve and not letting it float back and forth could be just a small pice of dirt that is holding it . but also there could be other problems since i can not chekit myself i am given ya a place to start. Also look for any leaks along the lines like up under the radatior.

thanks for the start TV, no leaks anywhere, everything else working just fine, got the I.T. manual out, it said sticking valve in steering control, but your experience is more helpful than any manual
