Last year I built a twin cylinder three point hitch for my 39H The only problem I have is that the hitch lifts very very fast.I was wondering if TSC or somebody else sells a flow reducer and will something that reduces flow hurt the lift all pump under frequent use conditions,Such as using a box blade or a grader blade.Lifting so fast makes it hard to make any light adjustments when your are trying to level gravel and soil.It just lifts so fast that you leave a big pile of meterial wherever you touch the control rod....Any help would be great thanks River Bottom Farmer

Get a spool valve from northern tool and put it in the line. When you want to use the 3 point, pull the lift all rod and lock it open, them adjust the 3 point with the spool valve. The lift all is either all or nothing , with the valve you can meter it.

I just remembered that we used to run a John Deere #5 mower on Dad's H. We had a small diameter Allis-Chalmers cylinder to lift the bar, and had to add a flow restictor in the hose to prevent the bar from coming up so fast that it would break things. It was set up that way for as many years as I can remember, and it did not hurt the lift-all pump.

Simple, and cheaper!Just hook the hose for the 3 point to the back outlet on the pump,on the clutch side.

Bad idea. in reply to John M, 04-25-2006 17:51:39
It may not happen right away, but sooner or later using the rear cultivator outlet by itself will give you a hydraulic lockup.

I doubt if you will find what you want at TSC. I think you will find them at the link provided. Look for some that will full flow in one direction for lowering the hitch, and restrict the flow in the other direction for lifting.

Larger diameter cylinders may be the easiest solution.

Try slowing down the engine. Gallons/minute are proportional to RPM. Bigger cylinders would do it though it seems kind of drastic unless you have too small of cylinders now to do the job.
