As if I didn't have anything to do. But it has been a while since I restored anything. Maybe it's time to build up instead of tear down. i dumped in a little $3 gas, changed the points and backed it off the trailer. But I don't have no key for it so that is one more thing for my "want" list. Anybody have a NOS key switch?

That's only a little rougher looking than the one I drove at Dad's Farmall dealership 40 years ago. It had the in-line six, same engine as the 560.
We had a little Hardee tilt bed utility trailer we pulled with it, single axle, used tires, the diamond plate metal bed bowed down six inches between the sides and the center seam from the weight of the loads. We would use it to haul Cubs and Super A's. Exciting part was driving the tractor on to the tilt bed, trying not to slam it too hard.
Get arrested nowdays.

Man, where did you find that? I had a '59 with the BD-240 engine & a four speed (3+granny low) when I was in college. Got it from my father who had driven it back & forth to work for years. Only difference was mine had the wide bed instead of the stepside.

Loved that truck, have really regretted selling it, but I was moving from Oregon to Virginia after I got out of college & didn't want to drive it across country.

Hi Howard,

My dad had a '59 just like that one. Worked years and years around the farm.

Good find!

Allan

Fact is,

The darned thing might still be setting down there in the tress, if I remember right.

I'll check next time I'm down there.

Allan, if you have one that is not a total rust bucket...remember I would like to get one.
I prefer a 51 or 52...but beggers can't be choosers...

Those 4 cyl. engines were 1/2 of a 345 wasn't it? Same bore same stroke as one of the V8s. Mark

From what I know about them yes they where. I do know they sure did have a lot of torque when it came to pulling some thing.
