Worked hard on the gas tank for my H last night, took for ever to get the dent out.Made a rod and welded a homemade sheet metal dolly to the end so I could reach through the fill hole and hammer the dent out.Took a while since the tank was so thick. Also found something of interest inside the tank.Found three silver dollars inside when I was flushing the tank out with the water hose.It was full of sediment and they didnt shake loose until after about ten minutes of flushing.Kept shaking the tank until they came out. What a find they are all 1939 silver dollars. Going to give them back to my buddy that I bought the H from.Almost bet he put them in there will find out next weekend when I get back over that way. You guys ever find neat stuff in your old tractors. Would like to hear a few..... River Bottom Farmer

River Bottom Farmer,

In the toolbox of my Super M after I bought it I found pretty much the usual--bent bolts, used fence staples, a couple of spark plugs, some big old square nuts, and lots of greasy dirt. But, like Paul, now I'm going to take a good look inside the gas tank!

I"m guessing you mean "silver half dollars". No US silver dollars were made in 1939. The "Peace" silver dollar was last made in 1935. Just thought I"d point that out, as Coin Collecting is my hobby, second only to tractors :-)

I have found nothing but condos for mice. But now you got me wanting to go out and shine a light in my tanks.
