I was asking a question about a bad hyd stystem on a 656 and very body said pump. But today I notced that the hyd lever only gives good pressure one way but the other way it has very little. I also the steering does not work well unless the hyd lever is pushed forward. So what I am asking is oil leaking internaly in the valve? To acuse the pump dump my 3.5 gallons need for the stearing. Is the diverter pluged?

Chris,

I would put a gauge on that system. Perhaps the flow control is bad, but it really sounds like there is not enough oil to run both routes.

You throw that stick, it deadheads the system and 'ups' the pressure back to the steering. Will the remotes lift a load?

You're gonna have to get a reading to tell what exactly is going on, in my opinion.
