Looks like I have to swap out the steering gear on my B250. This is not one of IH"s best moments. Looks like the dash and fuel tank need to come out. Anyone done this? What am I getting into?

Hi Eric. Yes you will have to remove the dash first. Undo the screws and lay the dash over to the right side as far as the wires will let it go, you might have to take off the oil gauge pipe. Remove the hand throttle lever, disconect the fuel line then undo the 7 small bolts and lift off the tank. Is your steering box the single arm or the double arm type. Iff you need any more info post a message and I will try and help you. Good luck MJ

MJ This is a good start! I have a single arm steering box. There is a cross bar on my loader that goes across the top of the fuel tank (about 2 inches clearance) Will I have to remove the loader?

Yes Eric you will have to remove the loader as the tank as to be lifted of the steering column. Single arm steering boxes are the later ones and are better to repair. Its the same box as the B250 tractor and your friendly Case IH dealer should be able to get you the parts. MJ Sorry Eric its the same as a B275 tractor.
