I recently put new seal and oil gear in the tranny. It was noisy before i started going threw it and now it is back together and still noisy. I have another super a that is not. There is some wear on the main shaft and 3&4th slider gear.Could that be making all the noise?

What it actually sounds like is a gear out of the shift rail alowing it to rattle against the bottom gears. But i have checked that and is not the problem bearings are good, oil is new.

Now the gas tank has a small leak under the mounting rail that is spot welded to the tank. I have tried the tank liner from Orielys. that slowed it down but still get some moisture.what next? reconditioned tanks are expensive.

'A's have nearly always had noisy trannys.
Your gas tank leak is probably a spotweld crack. I had the same on my '48 SA. I cut the bottom out of the tank with a saber saw with a metal cutting blade, welded the crack, and then welded the tank back together.
