Hey folks,

I usually read the farmall side of this site - but have a green question - hoping you guys are as knowledgeable as the red guys!

I inherited a bunch of used (quite possibly worn out) planters and other implements when I bought my acreage. I'm trying to balance saving old iron with the practicality of cleaning up my grove and old sheds. What items are of value - useful or antique? Planter boxes? planter frames? 2 bottom plows? single gang disks?

My wife and I are trying to help out a couple that are trying to adopt a child and recently incurred some large medical expenses with a work injury. We wondered if and how to turn some of these parts into donations toward their account. If we have some valuable items, whats the best way to get them sold?

Thanks,
Eric

I saw a pair of John Deere planter "boxes" (they were round),with lids at a flea market a couple years ago and the asking price was $325. Don't know if they ever got it or not. Made me think I needed to go look in the junk row to see what we had!

I'd sure like to have a small disk to do deer food plots, but Iowa is a long way from Oklahoma at $2.60/gal.

plows are easy to sell. Planters are harder. Disk, no, What else is there? Watch for things lying around that were taken off tractors years ago, radiator shutters, PTO shields, battery boxes etc. All these things sell good.

Green or red, makes no difference, what the cowman said is pretty much true no matter what color or brand.
