A local scrap dealer in SE SD is paying over $100 (I've heard up to $120) per ton right now for prepared scrap iron.

Last I checked car bodys etc is bring in $70 per ton. That was a week ago, in this area I always check before hauling any thing in becuase the price never stays the same from one week to the next

I just hauled in some #1 unprepared and it is paying $4.50 per 100 lbs or $90 per ton. We are in Western , Pa. The price ha sbeen holding at this rate for 6mths now.

Well here in south central mIchigan the price of steel has jumped to 110 a ton. I see it staying there for a couple of weeks and then slowly going down to about 60 a ton by fall. This is the normal trend around here.
