Hows it goin' fellers....Was out working on my H in the garage this evening while the kids played in the yard beside the garage so I could keep an eye on them while I worked. My wife works night shift on mondays and tuesday so this has been or usual ritual for a few weeks since the weather has warmed up.Up till today everything has been working out well withe me in the garage and the kids in the yard playing and sometimes I let them help me clean up the garage a little before going in for the night. But anyhow I had just peeked out to make sure everything was ok and carried my breather and auxillary tank in to put them on the tractor when I heard THUMP a short pause and my three year old daughter scream a blood curdling scream.I dropped everything and ran out to her as fast as could hurdling a three foot high pallet of shingles (twisting my ankle when I landed). There stood my seven year old son holding a garden hoe with his other hand over his mouth his sister lying in the grass crying holding her head with both hands. He looks at me and says IT WAS AN ACCIDENT and run like HE!! for the house. He really clubbed her good with that hoe.It split the top of her ear open about 1/2 an inch and her ear is really swollen.I checked to make sure her pupils werent diolated and made sure she was ok and took her and my younger son to this house and cleaned her streaked little face and put some ice in a bag for her to hold on her ear.AND THEN I tryed to find my older son,He was hiding because he knew he really messed up because earlier in the day I had taken the hoe away from him because he was swinging it around over his head like a ninja. I put the hoe away in the shed and told him to leave it there. He had sneaked into the shed and got the hoe again.I administered the proper punishment for both transgressions and sent him to his room.Just got my stomach back down out of my throat.I truly love my kids but JESUS they can really scare the crap out of you cant they.Im sure you guys have some similar stories would like to hear them sometime..... River Bottom Farmer.... P.S. Isnt it amazing how the oldest one always turn out to be the genius LOL

I have two boys, 19 and 17. I can say that for the most part they have been a joy to have around. They haven’t given me or their mother many grey hairs either. My oldest is in college about 350 miles away and I have to admit that I miss him already as we have gotten along well. My youngest will probably be going to in another 16 months which will then mean an empty nest.

To me the teen years were more fun than the younger ones (not that they weren’t) and I enjoy my sons more as they grow older. With few exceptions they have both been good kids, not getting into trouble, do well in school and are involved in the community and church. I’m sure gonna’ miss them if they ever move a long ways away…

Curious as to what the proper punishment turned out to be. My boy was lucky to live through his teens. Lots of stunts, including the day the Osan AB SPs brought him home after catching him stealing the windshield wipers off of the 3 Stars car. I thought he was brain damaged. I look at him now that he's 26 and can't figure out for the life of me how he turned out to be such a great guy, and it all happens SO FAST!
Happy to report that I've kept all my hair and it hasn't turned yet, though the gray is showing up on the wife's head. lol.

Why do you think I got a Devorce and have four very nice kitty cats that don't give me any problems! Sorry folks but I hate kids. There are some good ones out there and I know a lot of you love yours, but DANG there are some dumb ones out there! The next door neighbor has a son who I think is now 20 and she threw him out two years ago. Now he can't hold a job because of his big foul mouth and one HE---l of a bad attitude. She "helps him out by letting him move back home and he runs his damn 4x4 high wheel truck and ATV all over the place. "Wonder where I get my attitude"? I am about three raw nerves from calling the cops on them for noise at TWO AM "Very loud Chevy big block" and unlicenced ATV up and down the street! Yes she is a single mom too! GOD HELP THIS COUNTRY! Jeffcat

Do the country and favor and marry her and become a daddy for her wayward boy.

Ah aren"t young uns just a ball of fun. Hang in there its not over yet, you have a few years to go yet and then you will always worry. Thats all part of having kids. Worst part is it happens so fast. Have fun and enjoy them while they are still at home.-Bill

My wife and kids still talk about the time the neighbor kid talked my 9 year old into filching a gallon of gas out of the barrel. They were "going to start campfires" in the woods. Fortunately, I caught them before the first match was struck. The neighbor kid never, ever, set foot on our property again; my son remembers this as a harsh lesson in crime and punishment! Durned if he didn"t turn out pretty good, too. Yours will too!

HAR!

You think you have troubles! Trust me, these are the finest years of your life. I raised two to adulthood and have two from my second marriage that I am raising alone..they are 4 and almost 6...and I am 48. The first kids caused me gray hair, this second bunch causes me to laugh..everyday. It's a circus and sure enough, they get into things, club each other and do all sorts of things to question your sanity. You learn to put up the butcher knives, unplug the skilsaw, hide the ammo, keep the keys out of the car and tractor and put medicine bottles way up high in the cabinet...and then you pray, a lot. First in thanks and second for guidance. It's when they get quiet that I begin to worry..hehe!
