Dad bought a real nice 350 farmall this morning. Serial number 4019S. Owner said it ran last year, had a slight knock in it. I dropped the oil plug out of the pan, bout 3 gallons of water drained out, no antifreeze though,,, It wouldnt turn over so we pulled the head off it. the head was rusty, but rebuildable, the cyls, had some light powdery rust on the walls,,,, I tapped the pistons lightly with a hammer and a block of wood, and the darned thing turned over a little. Hmmmm,,,, Put in a good charged battery,,, filled the crankcase full of kerosine and used motor oil,,, (figured it couldnt hurt,,) Hit the button and it turned over!! I cleaned, cleaned and cleaned some more on the cyl walls, rinsed them out with kerosine, rotated the engine a few more times, and they cleaned up like nothing ever happened! Im glad the owner was honest with us,, ya know, some just would do anything to make a sale,, but I was very happy to learn that the tractor was not misrepresented. So,, gonna give it a good overhaul, get it running. Funny thing was it has flat top pistons in it,, not firecraters,, Anyways, the 350 has good tin, original paint, fast hitch, pretty good tires, but they are loaded in the rear,, The lights even worked after changing the fuse, so did the cigarette lighter! Paid $900 for it. I think that was a good price. On July 4th, we have a tractor pull, we usually use our 856 to run the grader off the 3pt hitch, now I can use the 350 inplace of the big ol 856. No fellas, not making a puller out of this ol tractor,, just too nice, it isnt beat up at all! I dont have a book on the 300-350"s, What does the "s" suffix mean in the serial number? Cant wait to dig out my 2 bottom IH plow! Just had to share this with ya all, Ill have some pictures later on once the storms are finished up. Chad

Great!!!
I just got a 350 myself. Engine is stuck and has been for a couple years. Tin is great, right rear rim rusted through, needs rear tires, but feel it is worth fixing.
Price was great!!1 Free for some labor. Whast is the best way to unstick the ole girl?
Any help would be great.

Depends on what the damage is internally. Pull the head off and have a good look at it. If the cyl walls look ok, you may get lucky with soaking it in kerosine or diesil fuel, I like to use laquer thinner mixed in with the diesil fuel, it eats rust! If the cyl is severly rusted, and if the crank is BDC or TDC and not inbetween, you may have a chance to get it apart without too much extra damage. If you know for a fact, that the engine has ran in the last year or so, just depends on how long it has sat with the water in the cyl, we got lucky on ours,, caught it in time, if it would have been another month or 2, I bet it would not have popped loose. You already know it has a TA and a 540 rpm pto. The exact wording for S is "TA with provision for 540 rpm pto".

In my opinion, the 350 is the prettiest and best proportioned tractor ever built, next to the 300.
