Some of you may remember about 8 weeks ago I posted about my neighbor well being comtaminated with something awful. The DNR first thought it was a local farm that had been finded for dumping a few years back. The DNR came to my home yesterday and said what they have found is a very high concentration of acetone and other chemicles used to make meth. They think it's likely someone dumped this crap in a sink hole. I attacthed a link to the front page story from the Springfield news and leader that has the story you can look at if your interested. This is a story that should concern anyone that is on a well and enjoys clean water. Thanks for your time.
Paul

I was watching an episode of "COPS" a couple weeks ago. A woman called the police because she thought her husband was cooking meth in the house. The police showed up, checked it out and evacuated the house. Then EPA guys in space suits showed up to clean out the chemicals and told her that her house was uninhabitable. Everything she owned was destroyed and they told her to get her kids checked out for any number of respiratory ailments they could have from being exposed to the chemicals.

Hi Paul, That's a shame that someone would stoop so low. We had the same problem here in MD daing back into the 70's. My own mother had said her water was tasting strange and made them
itch when bathing. They had a chemical analysis
run on the water and it contained benzene. All the homes in that had their wells contaminated.
They were out of the town limits, but there were so many homes affected they extended the town limits and were connected to town water and sewage. It still cost them a lot of money to connect.

Several months ago they had the same problem here
in my county. This time it was gasoline that leaked into the ground. Exxon is furnishing bottled water and these are expensive homes owned by lawyers and doctors. I think a big lawsuit is
just around the corner.

Several weeks ago another Exxon station lost 25000 gallons of gasoline into the ground. I'm sure that will show up in someone's well water.
Hal
