I have a Super C with a C-153 trans planted in it and the oil pressure is a little lower than I like at a idle. What I am wondering is if the oil pumps are the same from the C-113 to the C-153? I have the thin shim"s (gaskets) for the C-113 pump will they work in the 153?
Thanks Shaggy

I have the parts list for C-123 oil pump and the C-153 oil pump. They do share some of same parts.
I can email them to you if want them. Hal

What wt engine oil are you using? I restored an A and I used 10-30 wt oil in it when rebuilding the engine. It was in the winter and I left the
oil in and the engine had very good oil pressure
until I started to plow with it. I noticed the pressure was dropping and I thought about the oil.
I pulled off to the side and changed to 30 wt. That solved the pressure problem. Hal

Almost all of oil pressure problems with the C113, C123, C135, & C153 engines is that the oil pump cover warps and the gasket blows out and the oil is dumped back into the oil pan.

I just put new bearings and a sleeve kit in my SC this winter and 1 thing I noticed, before when I had the tappet cover off with the motor running I had little to no oil on rockers. After the bearings I have a nice flow down each rocker arm, that would be one thing to be concerned with, just my 2 cents Jeff

I would put a calibrated gauge on it that is graduated in psi so you know what pressure you have. Check the pressure at full throttle too.
Have your bearings been checked for wear? Cam and
the bearing inserts all contribute to good oil pressure. Hal

The gauage starts at 10 then works up 10 at a time and at the idle it below 10 psi going by this gauage and the pressure goes up when the Rpms go up. I am going to check out the bearings when I pull the pan just to see.
Thanks Shaggy
