Is it just me? When I hit the post button it takes 20 seconds to hit, then another 20 after I get the preveiw screen.

I've cut way back on replies because it takes so long. Test on this was 1 minute from hitting the "preview your reply" to "send box, and another 1 1/2 from send to "sent"

About a month ago, mine was taking a couple of minutes for each one. I opened a 2nd window so I could keep going. I have had that problem off and on for a couple of years. The latest one was about the time Kim was working on her servers. Then one day a couple of weeks ago it got to where it only took a few seconds. Last couple of days it is taking a 30 sec to a minute (I haven't timed it) for each one. I wish Kim would get the new forums going -- have a feeling this is going to be an off and on thing as long as she's using the old software. It may also depend on what route the computer is taking. I think mine is routed to a server run by two gerbels somewhere, with the gerbels running in opposite directions. I really don't think it is my computer.

yup, I'm convinced it's the routing... and the outdated software that Chris had tryed to upgrade.

Less than 3 seconds each from clicking on the icon.
I'm running 1.8mhz P4 with a half gig of ram, on a dial up 56kb modem.

Have you defragged lately ? Sounds like you need some cleaning / freeing up some memory. Just a rookie on the outside looking in, but this helped me a lot.

cleaned out my temp cache (that took 12 seconds)
Still have time to get a drink while waiting. I'm going to a different board.
