Does anybody know if there was a "standard" pulley for a 1951 Farmall H. I know they come in steel, paper, and wood faced. Is this due to different uses? I am trying to keep my restoration original and don't know which pulley type is right or wrong or if it doesn't matter. Thanks,
John

I know for sure that our 1947 H came with a paper pulley. The reason I remember pulley is that day tractor was delivered my brother was giving it a trial drive turned it around quickly with brake lost control and ran into tree and broke pulley off luckily there was no other damage. Pulley lay around tractor shed for years.

9 1/2 inch Paper was pretty much standard but they could be orderd in several sizes and in iron too. There is no such thing as a "wood" pulley but some guys call the paper ones that. I have seen homemade ones out of wood.

I had a guy tell me this weekend that the metal ones came out on the Super series and after a while they went back to paper. Don't know if this is correct or not.

Steel pulleys were avail long before the SUPERS were built sizes varied because of the different pulleys on the hammer mills bilt in that era.
