HI, I HAVE A 674 INTERNATIONAL DIESEL THAT I BOUGHT BUT IT WON'T MOVE. THE PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM TOLD ME HE HAD A CLUTCH PUT IN IT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND NOW HE THINKS IT'S GONE BAD AGAIN. THE TRACTOR HAS A FRONTEND LOADER ON IT AND WAS USED TO LOAD SOME SANDBUT THAT'S ABOUT IT. SO I SPLIT THE TRACTOR AND PULLED THE CLUTCH DOWN TO FIND THAT THE CLUTCH DISC STILL HAS PLENTY OF MEAT LEFT ON IT. IT'S ALITTLE SHINEY BUT LOOKS LIKE TO ME IT SHOULD STILL HAVE ENOUGH TO PULL. IT'S ABOUT AT LEAST 1\8 INCH OR MORE FROM THE RIVOTS. WHEN I PUT THE TRACTOR IN GEAR WITH IT SPLIT IN HALF AND TURN THE TRANSMISSION SHAFT I CAN MOVE THE TRACTOR BY TURNNING THIS SHAFT AND THE TRACTOR HAD NO NOISES IN THE TRANSMISSION WHEN I WOULD TRY TO MOVE THE TRACTOR WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING. THE TRACTOR FELT LIKE IT WOULD TRY TO MOVE BUT IT WOULDN'T. COULD I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH FLYWHEEL TO CLUTCH DISC SURFACE AND PRESSURE PLATE TO FLYWHEEL SURFACE ? CAN ANYONE TELL ME THE SPECS ON THE FLYWHEEL ? MY I&T MANUAL DOES NOT HAVE ANY FLYWHEEL SPECS. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND ANY HELP

Hi Scotty, just a thought was the clutch disk installed backwards? I know on a 684 the long spline side goes towards the transmission.

Does it have a T/A?

Hi, don't think the disc was installed backwards because the tractor pulled for about 3 months after the new clutch and then started giving up until the tractor stopped moving but I won't know for sure because I didn't pay attention to see witch way the disc was. the disc is stamped flywheel side. I'm not sure about the T\A ? Does that mean torque adjuster and where would it be ? Thanks for your time and help...

I second the Vet. I just tore my 826 down for a similar problem. The clutch slipped on a hard pull and the pedal didn't grab until the very end of uptravel. When torn down, everything looked fine but when measured, the flywheel step was off by .050 (too deep). That's just like having .050 off the clutch lining. Yours must be WAY off if it won't even move.

Hi, the flywheel looks pretty bad. It has alot of heat cracks in the disc area and it don't look like it's has much meat left to cut but the pressure plate mounting area looks like it's never been touch. Thanks for your time and help.

Well two things come to mind here (1) they did not take out the shipping bolts , (2) they did not cut the step on the fly wheel to the correct spec. we have been hearing alot about this as the machine shops realy do not know what they are doing .

Hi, the tractor pulled good after the new clutch for about 3 months then slowly quit pulling. i don't see any shipping bolts in the pressure plate just the bolts with a lock nut under the fingers. I took the flywheel to have it ground down but they don't have any specs and won't touch it until we come up with some so I'm trying to find them so they can check it. I think you hit the nail on the head with the 2 surfaces of the flywheel. Thanks for your time and help.
