JD,

Sounds like the main clutch is slipping. Ya might try to see if you can adjust it.

well i just went back and pulled the top cover off of the t/a dry clutch.its wet!!!. .so i proseeded to see if the weep holes in the bottom of the t/a housing were free.guess what ,plugged
so i freed them up and about 3 quts off oil came poureing out .now what?????
the owner said ill pour gass on the clutch and problem solved, still that seal in the t/a is leaking.
i new it wasnt the main clutch, as he was plowing with a 60 ih plow today when i went to look at it

Hi JD,

Same darned thing was going on with my 686 when I bought it; I noticed it slipped on the high side in road gear.

Somebody had plugged the weep hole because the rear PTO shaft seal was leaking. Then, they just keep adding hytran to the rear end every time it got low.

By the time I bought it, the cavity had filled completely up, the fluid had ran up forward thru the shaft tube and had saturated the main clutch.

Wierd things happen when folks think that weep hole shold have a plug in it. :>(
