So what do the plugs on that cylinder look like? I would do a compression test before I tore the engine down. It may be a simple as its flooding and those 2 cylinders are taking the brunt of the fuel.

When I first got my SMTA I had trouble with plug fouling. I got some Champion D23s and it seemed to cure the problem until I could work on it more. There are other plugs of other brands that according to the books are equivelent, but I have never seen one that has the long base of the D23 and that seems to help. I usually use other brands of plugs over Champion except in this one type.

What weight oil do you use?? If its a muti weight chage it to say a 40 or 50W oil doing just that will slow down the problem a lot.

Maybe to buy yourself a little time before you overhaul it, a new set of hotter plugs would keep it from fouling, I've tried this in the past and it bought me some time. I've also dumped about 10% diesel in the tank to combat plugs fouling.
