Finally dragged the stuck H home today. Loads of play in the front end, brakes made neat noises but eventually started to work good.

The former owner said the last she remembered it running was in 1999. IT has a broken exhaust manifold and the muffler kept coming off, lettng water inside the engine, unfortunately. I am not real positive about it freeing up at this point.

Found a nicely preserved serial number plate.. Says FBH 68235 which makes it a 41 I think.. 1815 RPM underneath that. What's the FB stand for?

IF I need to rebuild the front end to make it a little safer to steer, would I be better off finding a good used wide front? Sure would feel a lot safer driving it with the wide front...But I'm a chicken anyhow...lol..

Any special features I should be looking for? Tractor had a loader but the scrap man got it before I got to the tractor. No lighting either, seat has a spring and a shock and works well. Rims are just about shot. Tranny shifts ok, there appears to be the remains of the belly pump, hoses dangling from it.

Plans are to blow out the cylinders and start a long term soaking project for now. At least it is appropriate yard art for here...

ATF on the cylinders and good luck. It is always nice to have a worthy project. The FB was just Farmall letters, no message on that end of the SN.
