I am going to install an M&W live hydraulic pump on my 52 H this weekend. I want to pipe it to use the original belly pump as the resevoir. Does anyone happen to have pictures of this conversion or a rough piping diagram? I plan on using the existing hydraulic control rod if possible. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Billy

Lots of them were done that way, most of them however have had the actual pump unit removed from the belly pump. I think you will at least want to disconnect the drive coupling.

That's what I had planned to do. I read in a post a while back that was the best way to do it if you were going to use the old pump as a resevoir.

John,

Where did you pressure in? Sure like to know how you pulled that off.

There is a way to set it up using the original control valve. I don't have the instructions with me here in AZ though... I'll see if I can find them when I get back to ND...

Billy,

I don't think that's a gonna work 'cause it will dead-head, won't it? Soon as you start it, you will be probably damagin' the timing gears.

I think you're going to need an open centered control valve with a pressure relief built in which dumps to sump.

You can sure use the existing tank as a reservoir tho.

Yeah, that does make sense Allan. The control valve with relief would cure that problem. Hopefully someone has a conversion of the same sort I can use for reference.

Thanks Allan!

Billy
