I have a 1949 Super-A that was bought new by my grandfather. It has the dual fuel (gasoline and distillate) configuration. The manifold is different with a lever to switch from gasoline to distillate when the engine heats up. I unfortunately broke the manifold pipe while removing the muffler. Does anyone know where I can get a new pipe. I have searched online and can only find the replacement gasoline manifold. This pipe becomes oval towards the base and bolts onto the manifold. Any help would be appreciated.
Rick

I found an exhaust pipe like you describe at a salvage dealer. I have two, one on a Super AV and one on my C. They are oval at the bottom and stick up about 8 to 10 ". The top pipe is cast into the oval part. It is not screwed in.

The pipe should just screw into that section, unless it has gotten corroded and the threads have fused. The pipes are easy to find from many dealers, even on-line. The base part that adapts the pipe to the manifold isn't so easy to find. I was lucky to find one at the last Red Power Roundup.

For your information the dual fuel ones have a flat plate which the pipe is flattened and welded to the base which bolts to the manifold.

Gene, I haven't seen one and was going on personal experience with my A. I looked in my parts manual and there it was.
