H Fan Pulley Spacing

I have run into an odd problem with the fan pulley spacing on an older H tractor. The belt is misaligned approx. 3/8". The fan pulley on this pump is spaced 3/8" farther forward than the pulley on the newer H that I have.

Were there different pumps/pulleys for the H tractors, depending on the year?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott

The power steering offset makes sense. The pump housing looks the same, it is just the gen/fan pulleys that are spaced farther from the pump.

Appreciate the help! Scott

When you install a power steering pump and drive from the lower pulley there was a spacer installed on the fan pulley to give the belt clearance. Maybe that is what you have.

Scott,

I've read that several parts changed on the H after 1939, but I don't know if the fan pulley assembly was involved. One thing you might check is to see that someone hasn't loosened the lock nut and turned the front flange out. They may have removed an old belt and not bothered to turn the flange back in.
