When looking into the oil fill hole on the early Bosch pump I see diesel fuel flowing inside and not oil. On a post last week Tractor Vet mentioned a primary pump shaft seal. IN the parts manual it only mentions 1 seal and that is the end plate oil seal where the pump hooks to the engine. Is this it or where do I look on the pump to find this seal? It mentions nothing about the primary pump shaft? Thanks for ANY help or suggestions! Andy

I am using the international parts catalog for fuel injection pumps no. PU-27A. It has both the IH and the Bosch. The IH pump diagram shows a primary pump and shaft, but no seal on that shaft. THe Bosch diagram shows a governor unit where the IH unit shows the primary pump? I will try to upload a picture tomorrow. Where is the shaft seal on the IH pump, maybe that will give me an idea where this one is, dunno? Andy
