Check out the tires - B

If you're cruising the web, check out ebay item 7606632780. It's a Farmall B thats 95% restored. I really like the looks of the rear tires on that tractor, with the swept back tread bar and divets on the bar sidewall. I need a set of new tires for my project B that's in the works. Anyone have any idea what brand of tire this is?
Thanks
DJL

"Rekord" makes a tire that looks exactly like those. Do a web search for them. I know we can get them locally in TN. and you probably can also.

First think you need to know is what size rims do you have? They could be from 7-10 or even more. Next is what are you going to do with the tractor when you have the new tires. You can get new ones for 100-200 each or even more. The 45deg bar is what was avail when new unless you got the worthless FIRESTONE FIELD and road which was closed center for wear. Its your tractor do what you want but there sure are lots of nice tractors with dumb looking tires wrong size and so forth.

After looking ar pics those look like the imports from EASTERN EUROPE priced locally at 136 ea. They are 6ply 9.5x24 on a 8in rim.

If in fact they are the imports from Europe that was mentioned, does anyone happen to know a brand name or where to get them? I would prefer to buy American made but I do like they way they look. This tractor is going to be used for light farm stuff, pull a hay wagon at a hayride or two, show or two a year, and playing around.

I thought that modern tires are 35 deg. and the old style are 45 deg...

The tires in that picture are the older style.

I believe you're right, the modern tires run from 23-35 degree bar angles and the old style was 45. What I'd really like is the war-time, original style that's currently on the tractor. The center is closed with a rib running down the center, kind of looks like a vine. Does that make sense? Haven't seen that old pattern anywhere though. The originals have good tread, but are rough with quite a bit of cracking and a couple of chunks out of the sidewalls. Is it cost effective or even possible to have those old tires restored? Like revulcanized or dipped or something? Probably a ridiculous idea, but I'm new to this restoration thing.
Thanks guys, I ALWAYS appreciate the feedback and knowledge that's shared on this forum.

You have the old FIRESTONE FIELD AND ROAD.They were useless thats why they didnt wear out because of the closed center. Dont throw them away as they look neat on an old restored B or A because of their looks. If you want to wait a few days i can show a pic of another import that looks great. The tire dealer only had one and is getting some more these are made in CHECK REBUBLIC wear good and have nice looks. T he price is 136 each fob WHEATLAND ,IOWA.You will like the tread on those from www.tuckertire.com.

Gene,
You're right they are the old Firestone Field and Road's. I agree, I won't pitch them, as they look really neat on my old B. I just don't know if they'll hold up good enough, so that's why I was looking at replacing them. The tread is good, but has some cracking/checking and a couple of chunks out of the sidewalls. Also some paint overspray from the last terrible paint job someone did. Is there a way to recondition these old tires, so i can preserve the original look? Revulcanize or dip, tire paint etc?

www.millertire.com has the 45 degree tires, they might have the closed center ones. Problem is they do not have all tires in all widths, so depending on what width you want, you may have trouble finding it. I have a C with the closed center design. But, they are about worn out. When I restore that tractor, I am going to use the newer style, simply because I like them better, in addition I can buy them locally cheaper than I can get the original type shipped.

I don't know, someone will come up with the right answer. If the angle is measured toward the rear (from the point in the "V") from a crosswise line perpendicular to the tire, you are probably right.

You might try Miller tire. Modern tires have the lugs at a 45 degree angle, I believe. The old style looks like the ones on ebay, I forget angle of the lugs. The divots are likely a characteristic of the particular brand.
