The extension arms on my 3-point hitch will not slide out of the lower hitch arms.

What is a good way to free them up?

Thanks guys for the advice. I've tried pulling them out by hooking up to a rail road iron corner post. I broke the post off and thought that's enough of that crap.

I've soaked them in Blaster from time to time. I'll try the saw blade idea. I hate to use heat as afraid to take the temper out of the arms plus makes things ugly.

Wick,

Took me three days to loosen 'em up on one of my tractors. I cleaned, soaked, beat 'em with a hammer and everything else.

Finally, I hooked to to the drawbar of another tractor that had the brakes set/locked and "yanked" on 'em with a "jering" action.

Popped 'em loose.

Allan

Well soaking them with a good penatrating oil or diesel and a blow gun to get all the dirt and rust out a littel lite BMFH a old hacksaw blade to get up along side of the links to dig the dirt out with . They can be real fun to get out i have seen them stuck so bad that after pullen a plow for a week they never move .

Well they were designed so that they could be pulled out about 4-5 inches for ease of hooking up to larger implements as you sure as heck are not going to move a large plow or culivator by hand and also so that you could change end from cat II to Cat III balls .
