ON A 1952 CUB, THE ENGINE RUNS BUT SEEMS NOT TO PUMP OIL,MAYBE IT IS CLOGGED. DOES IT PUMP OIL INTO THE FILTER AND THEN OILS THE ENGINE? WHAT MAKES IT PUMP OR SUCK THE OIL?

In addition to what Roger suggested you should remove the oil filter cap and fill the housing with oil and replace the cap. Hal

The Cub oil pump is located on the back of the engine and has to suck oil up there out of the oil pan. Sometimes they loose their prime if setting for a long time or if worked on. You need to prime the pump by taking off the allen head plug (1/8" pipe plug) on the back, left side of the engine and filling with oil. Then try it to see if you have oil pressure. Roger
