Was wanting to find out if there are several IH front ends that can be fitted to my 39 H ? I am nearing end of restoration on this tractor bought have recently bought another h and would like to add a wide front to make it easier to use in soft areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks R.B.F.

I'll take my Schwartz any day over the old IH with tie rods out front...

Doug: I wouldn't give the original H wide front with tyrods out front, much thought.

Go for one of the later SH, 300 or 350 front ends or go to a new Schwartz. All have automotive type tyrods behind the axle. Far superior, more manuverable, etc., will make your good better half want to drive the H.

And you thought we were all sleeping.

The H was available with a wide front, single front, or the common two wheel narrow front. You could also have rubber tires or steel wheels. Some of those original wide fronts do turn up from time to time, usually pretty pricey. Brand new Schwartz wide fronts are still available and can be ordered anytime you want one.

RBF,

I was in the same boat you are in now when I bought my last H. The silly thing had one of those east coast trikes on it and of course that thing just had to go. Neighbors might see it, don't ya know.

Anyway, I just do not like the looks of 'em, but I bought a new Swartz from Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch. Darned thing is just a pretty good front end.

Allan
