The throttle rod from the Saw Tooth to the adapter that bolts to the head is worn thru. Has anyone made one of these rods? Are the ends of the rod welded in? Does anyone know where I can get one of these?
Thanks for your help.

That rod is nothing more than a length of cold rolled steel rod, the ends are bent and a small hole is drilled to accept a cotter pin. Should be relatively easy to make, should be about as easy to find a used rod that is still useable.

Hey Rusty, you may have solid rod on your Farmall, but the 3 Hs I have all have hollow throtle rods on them. The ones I looked at in the boneyard were also hollow. The reason I had to make new ones was because someone had cut them in two down by the bellcrank on the engine head. Then they brazed a piece of solid rod across the cut when they put them back togather. I guess that was easier than un-screwing that fitting on the bell-crank. ken

I made some new rods out of 1/8" pipe. I threaded the inside of the ends 5/16 fine thread and screwed all-thread rod in as far as it would go. Then I used a wire cable crimper and crimped the ends in four places. If you want origional looking rods, thread the end of 5/16" cold-rolled rod and thread the part that screws in the pipe. Then you can heat & bend the short 90 degree part.
