3 minor snows here in Dakota in March. Good warm wx for the last 7 days. Took the 966 down to the edge of the field near the creek to push out a few infringing olive tress and got er stuck. Used the loader to lift her out and back. Never saw the ground so soft on 31 Mar! Did manage to get another 15 trees out and on the burn pile.

Here in SE MN we are having some on the worst mud in years. Had to park the 706 and get the Maxxum out with MFD to feed the cows, even that is up to the hubs in some places. Its been raining the last two days but tommorow the sun is supposed to be out then rain the rest of the week. Makes it fun calving but at least its not cold so the calves seem to get going just fine. 25 of 195 are on the ground so I have a ways to go yet. At this rate it looks to be mid April before I get in the feild to plant oats around here.

Here in Okla. most parts are so dry and have been since last October that the wheat crop is projected to make 25 to 30% of normal yield and that is for the fields that came up. I would give my left nt for a rain right now!

Dan, we are so dry around here that most of the farmers would gladly take a day or two off for rain.

Well it is not that dry over here as i would not want to go down into that bottom field yet , but i was just getting into being out of the house and doing something and was hoppen to atleast start turning the corn ground . We will not even think of starting to plant corn for atleast two more weeks or more depending on the weather and here in Ohio it may be nice today and tomarrow but it can and has turned cold with frost after the corn has come up . Like last year it got nice early and a bunch of guys jumped the gun and planted well there corn came up and went past the two leaf stage and we got SNOW and they had to go back and replant we almost made the same mistake but due to a break down put us back and we held off even though it got dry we did not do that bad i have seen worse but we did not have the added expence of replant.

Wow!
Here in eastern Ontario the snow is just leaving. I checked my field today and the water is running off like crazy. There is a 10" drain off the end of my field and it is running full, plus surface water is moving well.
2-3 weeks before anyone gets on the land, I would think.

Robert
