Another week and I will be flying home to ND for three weeks to help my Dad put the crop in. Kinda worried tonight as they got an inch of rain today and it is currently snowing tonight. Looks like I might be going home to shovel snow and help with calving. Either way I know there is plenty to keep me busy.

Of course, the moisture is always appreciated - just can't have a crop without the rain/snow!

Thought I would give you all a visual on my locations in AZ and ND...

I actually fly from Las Vegas to Bismarck, much quicker and cheaper too.

In the opposite corner of the state, we have no hopes of being in the field in 3 weeks. Snow in my yard is still 4 feet deep, probably 6 or 7 in the trees. Fields are all still white, especially after our rain last night changed to snow.

Great plans !! Hope you do well on your trip !
I am in Wyoming, and the weather skips us a lot for moisture.
Also, yes .... have seen the Action Toys up in Billings, MT. and they have scads of farm toys, toys for sale.
Good luck in your upcoming work !

Left your area of Az Monday, arrived in Sk last night. Stopped in Billings at Action toys, what a store, yes I left with a couple of tractors. Just for info...gas prices, Az, $2.35, Wy $2.09, Mt $2.30. In Canada 0.90/litre x 3.8 x.85 = $2.90 US $ equivalent / US gallon. Darald

Been through pretty close to your area of AZ, pretty interesting country down there!

As for shoveling snow when ya get back home...heck, you have a whole week! One week ago today here in north central Nebraska we had 15+ inches of snow on the ground. Today there's only a little snow left in spots where the biggest(5ft high or more) drifts were. Some foriegn substance(heard it's called "mud"???vaguely remember it from years ago) has mysteriously appeared in it's place. Whatever this "mud" stuff is, it doesnt seem to blow into drifts like the snow did...And, as a bonus, somehow, all our dust has dissappeared(at least temporarily).

You'll enjoy your trip up north. Even though you're headed a bit farther north than I am, spring has sprung, the blackbirds are singin' in the trees, baby calves are running on the meadow, and the smell's in the air!

Hi, since we are on the suject of ND, I am planning a trip to Grand Forks area in either mid May or mid June.
My question is which month has the best weather?
I dont like hot weather or wet weather.

Apreciate any advice.

Either of those months should be OK. July is when it gets hot up there. Grand Forks is usually cooler than most of the state anyway...

Either time would be okay for weather, with June being the better bet. Also in June crops should be up and it will be a lot prettier to take a drive and look at crops and farms and such.

It looks like you must be heading to Regent, ND. Maybe you should put some of the sunshine and warm weather in your suitcase!! I am located 15 miles east of Dickinson so am not to far away. Good luck farming.

New England, actually - just Southwest of there. If you've driven on highway 22 South past New England you have seen the Rainy Buttes - Dad's farm is near them, actually one of our rented quarters is right next to the East Rainy.
