I am looking for a dual pto kit for a 5288 international which currently only has 1000. Is there any aftermarket manufacturers or used avaible and what is the cost?

The PTO center housing is the same as a Magnum. You can convert your PTO to a dual shaft PTO with a 806- 1086 PTO and a dual speed PTO rear cover off of a 5088 or a Magnum. You will need to use the Shafts and gears out of the donor PTO and the center section out of your PTO out of your 5288.

A PTO from 706, etc. will NOT, repeat NOT, work. The PTO unit will have to come from another 88 series (only 5088's had dual speed from the factory) or from a Magnum (7110, 7120, 7210, 7220, 8910, 8920, or 8930).

I bought the parts to convert the single small 1000 shaft in our 5288 to the dual shaft unit. All you need is the rear cover, the 540 shaft, the reduction gear, and all the bearings and seals. I got them from a place in Wall Lake, IA, but I can't remember the name of the place. Ended up with ~ $1100 in it... As soon as I figure it out, I'll let you know.

e-mail me at binderpower856@agristar.net and I'll get that place and phone number for you if you want it.

any 706 and up pto unit should work, unless they changed going from the 86 to 88 series. I"d get one from an 86 series tractor due to them being easier to engage smoothly even with the engine revved. TMS had a pile of pto units when we had to put one in our 1566. Any scrapping yard should be able to hook you up there is a list on here somewhere but don"t know where.
