Hey, was just wondering if anyone knew how a late-model f20 was supposed to be shut off? Is there supposed to be an internal grounding out or is the spark retard supposed to retard the spark enough to kill the engine? My tractor is a 1938 and now that I have the timing and point gap set correctly, the engine runs great, starts on 3/4 pull from cold, but won't shut off when spark advance lever is full up; down is the position I run it in and it purrs like a kitten. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

yes, full up is retard and ground. the linkage may not be letting it come full up or the grounding peg may be bent and not making contact.

Yeah, I just got back from going home, and surprise surprise, the little metal tail on the points that's supposed to touch the grounding peg wasn't touching, so I bent the tail down and it works great now! Thanks for the help,
Michael
