fIXXIN TO DO TH WHOLE ENGINE 100%. AM PLANNING TO USE THE 3 1/4 OVER SLEEVE KIT. I'M PLANNING TO ORDER EVERYTHING ON WED., DOING A CLUTCH JOB TOO. IF ANYONE HAS ANY HANDY TIPS OR DO-NOTS I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IT. SHE IS GOING TO BE JUST A WORKING GIRL, BUT ANY LITTLE EXTRA H.P. THAT ISNT TOO PRICY WOULD HELP. WILL A CAM FROM ANOTHER MODEL(200,230) HELP HER OUT, OR WILL THAT BE JUST A WAST OF $ ? ADDING A FAST HITCH, SO SHE'LL PROBABLY SEE HER FAIR SHARE OF THE PLOWING. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT.

Make sure to check the distance that the new sleeves protrude above the deck of the block. .003" to .007" is the spec. Over .007" and coolant WILL leak when the head fails to seat.

You should have the block degreased and all the oil passages cleaned of any sludge. The area where the sleeve seals are installed in the block needs to be clear of all rust, scale or dirt. Once you install the new seals and sleeves you should make 4 holddowns from flat stock metal so the sleeves don't move after you have the pistons installed. You will be rotating the engine and this will prevent the sleeves from moving.

Your crankshaft should be taken to a reputable auto machine shop to be measured for wear. They can determine if the shaft needs to ground undersize or if still measures std and only needs to be cleaned and polished. They can also supply
your bearing sets.

Your new pistons may have an arrow and this should be installed on the rods so the numbers face the camshaft and the arrow points to the front of the engine (radiator). Hal

I never order any thing till I get into the engine to have a good look see. That way if the crank needs turned you don't end up with the wrong size bearings. There are a few other thing like that also like clutch which can be more then one size etc. etc.

Be sure and check the deck of your head, they are bad to leak between the 2 inside cylinders, lot"s of times they are warped up in the center. Also, after you have ran your engine aftyer overhaul, and thermostat has opened and closed, re-torque your head, it"s aggravating, but may save you some leaks later. try to adjust your valves with correct clearance, a couple thousanths can make a good running engine ,run excellent(hope you put in new valves to make a good overhaul).Clean your lower block o-ring grooves real good, and de-burr with emory cloth.I fix a bucket of clean soapy water, and dip the liner in the bucket before installing it, and helpsslide against the oring and into place better. If the top of your block has any dings and nicks, I"d put copper coat on both sides of my head gasket for sure, I usually do anyway.1 more thing, go toCase/I.H. dealer and get a new oil pump gasket for the aluminum plate over the cogs of your oil pump, unless someone has leveled it, this aluminum plate will be warped between the bolt holes, lay some sand paper down on a very smooth steel surface, then lay the mounting side of the aluminum cover on the sandpaper and while holding it down even slide it back forth and level the surface back to flat.Trust me, these gaskets are cigarette paper thin, don"t put more than one, just level the aluminum and you"ll have oil pressure like you"ve never had, I"ve doubled it this way on several tractors. Well, I"ll quit here and let someone else give you there opinions.
