We had a neighbor on a nearby farm, he also worked for the R.R. A lot of his equipment was painted R.R. color.

Where I work, questionable stuff is tossed, sometimes I"ll take a chance on using it.

A local fella has a farmall H and a john deere B with the colors reversed. He hauls them to all the tractor shows and people just freak out! Some people laugh like crazy and some get down right pissed. He told me thats what he wanted, he enjoys the reactions from everyone.

P.S. hey Chads I didn't forget, when I get a chance I'll take some pictures of the neighbors M with the W9 engine in it. Probably have to get the boy to put them on the computer though.

Id like to have a IH wide front for the ol M. Around here, they will bring 1200-2000$$ at auction if they are worth a darn. Look close at the sheet metal,,, (beyond the sea of green) other than the tiny rusty spots on the grille, that steel is clean, not pitted up, not beat up, will be a real nice restoration project. Last thing I ever wanted to do is upset anyone by the picture,,, we know its wrong, but its still a Farmall, we all want to save them, and we will! Just wait,, Ill show ya what she will look like in a tight red dress, or paint,,, LOL! Chad

Chad,

I think what you are doing is admirable.

I didn't see a thing wrong with the old tractor; looks just a good as could be for just bringing it home and way better than three of the old beasts that I've dived into the money pit on.

Heck, we all knew you were gonna dip 'er in red anyway.

Allen, look what you got now though!!! You know what you have, your mind should be at ease. Think about this one,, My H pulling tractor, I had over $5500 just in the short block, 600 in the head,250 for the cam, and I dont know how many starters ive gone thru, but its over 10. In a 9 year "investment" Ive got well over 10K in the whole tractor, bad thing is at the moment, the block cracked, and I am building a new block using the existing parts I already have, except for the pistons. Ive turned down 15K for the H, when it was running, I wont sell it. I know what I got. im sure you feel the same bout your equipment. $$ is just money, a tractor,, well, it has been said that they are more than that. When they get sick, we fix em at any cost. Its a disease,,, called the tractor bug. last week, I respected your comment bout pulling the guts out of a machine performing a task never intended. No, I dont like to see that either, thats when something bad can happen, either breakage, or someone gets hurt due to the overstressing the chassis. I do belive that the sport is safer with the proper equipment. tractors with a little enhancement takes the gut pulling out of the equasion. Its like putting a H on that big round baler you have,, knowing the limitations, and respecting that limit is how they get the job done right. Chad

Ain't the first one I've seen that way, won't be the last. I always thought a Farmall would look nice in a deep metallic Candy Apple red...
