What is the approximate weight of this tractor? Anybody know or have a n idea? Also the distributor shaft suddenly quit turning when trying to start it. How is the shaft connected and how do I do the timing bit now? Thanks! Any help greatly appreaciated.

jagar: If you distributor is not turning, most likely it is a small gear and shaft within the drive housing onto which the distributor mounts. That distributor drive gear is very small compared to timing gears. These give trouble when not lubricated as per the manual.

It could be timing gears, however the best way to check is make sure the distributor shaft is not turning as the engine turns over. If that is so, then remove valve cover to see if valves are operating as they should every revolution of the engine. That will tell you where the problem is.

With out the loader is weights in around 3400lbs I would guess you would need to add 1000-1500lbs more for the loader.

Weight is approximately 2 tons.

There's more wrong than just timing if the distributor shaft isn't turning anymore. It might have twisted off in the distributor, if you're lucky. Anything else means you're going to have to tear the tractor down to access the cam shaft and timing gears.
