Well depending on if the engine is locked up which it probably is I would guess $300 maybe a little more. Whats the oil in the engine look like, how about whats in the radiator?? I know we picked up a 450 with a loader on it for $300 and if we hadn't been able to get it to run we never would have got it out of where it was short of haveing a dozer come in and pull it out.

Judging from what you describe, I would offer $750 - simply because you should be able to recover that much by parting it out.

A new shortblock means nothing after 20 years of sitting.

Like others have said, I simply will not make an offer till the owner gives me a starting number. Then I know if we're on the same page. If he won't give you a number, he doesn't really want to sell. Glenn F.

I think Rusty is in the ballpark.

Because it is not running the seller maybe waiting for you to offer more than it is worth and then if something big is wrong with it he can say that is what you offered as is.

I would offer $300 as is without hearing it run.
Tow or trailer it home.

If something major is wrong you can probably recover your money.

If it runs after some minor tinkering then you have a real good deal.

Brian, kind of a tough question. If it was up and running could be worth as much as $2,500 or more. In it's current state I would guess $800 to a $1,000, maybe up to $1,500.
