Get a manual!!! Use 90w gear oil in the transmission and final drives. Don't forget the final drives, they are separate from the transmission. Level plugs for the final drives (also serve as fill ports) are located at the front of the final drives between the front lower drawbar attachment holes. Socket type plug takes a 1/2 inch drive. The final drives hold 3 pints each. Level plug for the transmission is behind the brake actuator rod on the left front of the transmission. You have to take the pin out of the brake clevis to get at it. The transmission holds 5 quarts. Maybe closer to 6 if you have the PTO and belt pulley. Use Hytran tractor fluid or equivalent in the hydraulic system. Fill to the bottom of the fill port. When filling, make sure the rockshafts are in the rear position, as that is when the cylinders are retracted and the most fluid is in the reservoir. Also use caution when you remove the fill plug, as there is no vent on the reservoir and pressure tends to build up in the thing and can blow out fluid when you remove the plug. Get a manual!!

Hytran is the IH version of tractor fluid that is used in most all modern tractors as combination hydraulic fluid and transmission lubricant. Most any all purpose "tractor fluid" will work. Around here, they even have that a Walmart, but any farm tractor dealer will have something that will work.

Haas....Thank you,I understand what youre talking about. I was really unclear on this because the I&T book said touch control hydraulic or something like that and i knew there had to be something that could be used in its place. Anyway thanks again for the help.
