So anyway, through the use of the auction sale portion of this site I sold some parts in December of 2001. Was in contact with the people who bought said parts in January of 03 and they assured me they were coming in the summer to get them...

Here it is, spring of 2006 and their email no longer works. I have no phone number or any other contact information.

I would appreciate any thoughts, do I hold on to the parts and hope they have my contact information yet? Do I re-sell the parts to get them oout of the way? What would you do?

Thanks!

Your period of obligation expired years ago.

If no money has exchanged hands, then you shouldn't feel one bit guilty about reselling the parts after FIVE YEARS(???).

Look in the dictionary next to the word "patience," and you'll find a picture of Steven@AZ :)

I would sell them, if they aint picked em up yet, if they complain give them there money back, if they aint paid, tell them they should have gotten there buts in gear. Our neighbour has a little old car, kinda rare, i forget what it is now, but he was drivin along one day, and an old farmer was pullin the car out of the old barn, so he stopped and asked the farmer if it was for sale, the farmer said, Well, the guy owes me 3 months rent on it, so it gets put out here till he pays, the neighbour said well how much is the rent? the farmer said, $300, so he give the farmer $300 bucks and brought er home!

I assume you were paid for the parts at the time of the sale?

There's probably a legal statute of limitations that maybe others can fill you in on, but if it was me I'd probably resell them if they were truly in the way and I wanted them gone.

Well, I dug around on the auction part under my account and found the addresses. I'm going to try sending a letter to each of them and see if it gets returned or if they contact me.

I would send a certified letter to the last known address. In that letter I would notify them they had 30 days to respond or the parts would be resold for holding charges and they would be charged 1 1/2% per month for holding them since the sale date. After 30 days the parts may be sold. Legally and morally you would be on pretty solid ground in getting rid of them. Put the returned letter in your files for future use if needed, unopened. If they ever did show up I would give them to them but it wouldn't be necessary. They must have gone through some bad times, but it isn't your responsiblity.

5 years you have held that stuff?
I would have resold it after 30 days.
