two year old oat straw and these bossies know what to do with it. I saw several calves that took no time lying down in it but I couldn't get any good pics without disturbing them. Gonna be a long night for my girls. Wish them well.

That picture even brings back a memory for me, and I"m only 21. Used to help the guy renting out the neightbor"s place. Load 20 or so bales on his truck, get out to the field, he"d set the cruise and climb onto the flatbed and I"d steer while he spread out the hay. Loved watching those cows and calves eat hay on a snow covered cornfield.

I'm only 23, and most of the time I feed alone. I can put as many as 44 bales on with no trouble, then just put it in 4X4 lo, and first gear and let it idle across the pasture, while I feed. Some days it seems like a lot of work, but I enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks for the pic dave, there's nothing prettier than a buch of cows strung out in the snow eating hay.

That is a good one. Thanks. We used to have 100 head of Herefords, but have since switched colors. Even though we don't have any now I will always like that breed. David

I remember many times growing up in Montana seeing that scene. They'll do alright, there a lot tougher than people give them credit. I only have a couple cows, but would much rather see the snow and frozen ground than rain and mud. But, I'm not going to complain too much, before too long we'll be complaining how dry it is.
