H Steering Wheel Removal??

does anyone know of someway to do this? any experience?

I used a steering wheel puller, which uses two long bolts that thread into tapped holes in the center ring of the wheel, and a large bolt that puts downward pressure onto the steering shaft. I actually made mine years ago out of 1/2 barstock, but they aren"t that expensive anyway. A harmonic dampener puller may also work. Problem was that due to corrosion there was little metal left on either side where the bolts thread into the steering wheel, , but in the end there was enough. My first mistake was to tighten the puller, and then tap on the center puller bolt with a hammer. I later read in the service manual specifically NOT to do this. They were right - I ended up unseating the rupture disc in the steering housing and had to remove the entire unit to replace it.

What did work, after considerable soaking with Kroil penetrating oil, was applying a 1/2 impact wrench to the steering wheel puller. The impacts broke it free in a matter of seconds.
