I was getting my 47 AI down to a rolling chasis, i removed the front crank bracket. I was scraping around grease to look for more orange paint and to my suprise i found the front end was white. I knew the motor had a service block in it when i bought it as well as the SA sheet metal but now the front end was replaced also. Which got me thinking as i realy never heard of the super AV being demos but i am sure there was some. Does anyone have any idea how many SAV Demos were made?

What the HECK paint it white and say it is a DEMO! Just think of the fun you could have arguing about it.
My Dad put a Wide front end on a BN and he had a blast! but he never said that it came that way from the factory he just said it was all IH.

I don"t know how many were made, but IH did use a white undercoat paint. My 600 has white under the red, and there were NO demo 600s. A lot of people pressure wash their tractor, see the white, and get all excited. I personally suspect that there are more white demonstrator tractors going to shows now than IH ever made in the first place.

I agree, people now days sees way more demos than were probbly made. the front end is glossy white and looks more like paint to me than primmer. the AI is telling more stories now as i am guessing since it was a state tractor that it probbly got hit by a automoble. i just figured it got rolled over but with the enigine, rad, sheet metal and now the front end, it more than likely got hit. with the white paint on the front end i figure it was replaced in 1950 and just happen to have the white paint from the demo program or the parts tractor was a demo.
