Does anyone have a good design on a parking brake lever for the H-M series? I've seen quite a few homemade versions and just wondered what will work best.

Cowman, that is what I have on my 49H, I just have to remember to keep my left foot off the rod when putting on the brakes. It's easy to get comfortable with your feet flat on the deck and not realize that your foot is on the lever.

Here's my all-time fav. wish I could find another. You just press it down with you left toe and it flips the catch up. No bending over and pulling on some blasted finger rod.

Drill a hole in the clip and hook a small chain to it and on the light standard.

Its been 40 years ago, but we had after market hand brake atachment for our M and H tractors. They really worked well. They were very safe and easy for kids to set and release. I would give anything to find one now to put on one of the project M's. Anyone else ever seen these?

We had the one showen above, back in late '40s...made me two of them a couple years ago, nothen to it...

two pieces 3/8" x 1-1/2" thin wall pipe...drill it out so 3/8" steel rod fits through...heat and bend as needed...weld 1/4" x1-1/2" x 1 1-2" piece of steel on pipe at bolts on platform....be sure the rod can turn freely behind the dash post before welding.....look at pictures.....

I highly recommend the one made by OEM Tractor Parts - their cat #3954BR. I have 'em on both my SH and SM. Easy to install and they work GREAT!

Price is about $40.

OEM can be reached at 800-283-2122.
