I started a message a few weeks back about a Farmall 826 Gas Hydro and how only 68 of these rascals were ever made. Well this tractor was on an auction on wednesday and it brought $17,000. I just thought it was rather interesting.

What type of rear end does the 826 have? I think the diesel was the little 358 german correct. What gas model engine was used and what type of Bell housing. Could you use the same bell housing for a gas as for the diesel

My brother has a 826 Hydro gas with a IH cab on it and is really a neat tractor! The only complaint is the hydro wine in the cab forces the use of ear phone protectors. I thought I read that only the gas tractors were hydro and the diesls were all gear driven. Is this true only 68 of these were made?....thanks.... Fred

Does anybody know how many gas GEAR drives they made? Dad saw an 826 gas in the paper here the other day, and thought it was a hydro.

yes i was told this also, i have never seen a 826 gas hydro in person only a pic. the only thing that could have made this tractor even more rare if it would have been a gold demo.

They supposedly sold one of these at auction in Marion, SD in the last 10 days. Anyone know what it brought?

This tractor that I am talking about is the one sold in Marion on Wednesday March 8th. The tractor brought $17,000 and went to eastern Iowa. The guy that bought it is going to keep in his collection and an occasional parade.
