hey everyone, ive got a 706 282 diesel ive had for 3 years now. before i got it, it had sat for about ten years, being used only one day a year for manure spreader duty. i have been using it for everything. last year i resealed all the injectors, and injector bodies, and fuel lines. i started it saturday to plow my driveway and drag some firewood out. i noticed the head gasket on the fuel pump side was seeping and bubbling in a few places. The other side was just seeping. my question is, did the 282's just eat head gaskets, or am i in for it with a new head. I was also wondering if a head gasket could dry out and weaken from the years of non use, and this is why it is blowing?
thanks
nate

They were a bit hard on head gskts and it could be that your head is a bit warped so it may be the time to pull the head and rebuild it then it may be in you best interest to replace the head bolts and chase the threads in the block . And after it is back up and running retoqure the head hot and then readjust the valves and again after 50 hours .
