What is the difference between these two tractors other than 3+hp? Thanks, Glenn F.

basicaly, the 350 is just a newer version of the 300. minor improvements. Although some 300's, and 400's too, were painted with white by the dealers to make them look like the 50's.

The main difference that I like is that the 350 clutch lever pivots on a point facing backward near the brake and pushes a lot easier than the 300 clutch lever which pivots on a point forward.

Uh, Paul, remember that IH did make the 300/350 in other versions than your utility -- the row crop had red wheels. Minor point, the 350 had a C175.

So trans., TA, hydraulics, steering, axles, wheels, sheet metal, etc. were the same? The gas 350 had a different block than the 300? Thanks, Glenn F.

Basically, yes to almost all of your questions.

The 350 had some minor improvements, both internal and external, but it is pretty much the same tractor, just with more horsepower.

Block's the same externally. All they did was punch the holes out for a 175 cubic inch displacement, up from the 169 cubes that the 300 had.

Fast hitch design is completely different, if your tractor has one. That's the most signifigant difference between the two. Other things, like the original color of the instrument panel, the addition of a separate starter button, tachometers were more common, power steering came from the factory on some, 12V electrical was more common and I think it was even negative ground...

But, as far as bolting major assemblies together from the two... No problem. It all fits together.
