Took the 5th gear out today on the 300 and expiremented with it on the output on the T/A. The gear is absolutly ruined, now that shaft is out, how crucial is it too get the backlash set?

Levi...where are you and what exactly do you need? Maybe you and Joe could get together some way and come to Houston. I have a 300U dad rebuilt the engine in but never got to the rest of it. I plan on keeping the engine and very little of the rest of it.

Put it back the way it was and don't screw with it as it has already been factory set and the ware pattern has woren in it will be fine the way it was ya start tryen to change things you will have noise and add more ware to it . So put all the shims back in the same place and your done .
