I was reading a history of farm tractors book the other day and in the Farmall section I read the H weighed some 5500lbs. and the 300 some 5300. I was surprised the H was heavier...? Wouldn't the fast hitch, TA, power steering, LPTO, etc. render it HEAVIER? Or was this a stripped down 300. I don't remember the picture depicting these options. I am a CASE man, but if I were to have an older Farmall, I think it would be a high option 300. I have always thought they looked like such a nice tractor. I probably better not operate one or I'll have to have it! Thanks, Glenn F.

Back when Dad farmed full time My Super H weighed 5250#.... that's with 12.4X38's full of fluid and one set of rear weights. Now days with the loader, two sets of weighs, plus the chains I suspect it weighs over 6500#. There's a LOT of steel in that loader!

i've seen that sign, it was a Farmall advertisement that tried to make the 300 seem more appealing over the H's people already owned. those specs werea bare 300 as in manual steer, solid hitch, zero hydraulics whatsoever. that h depicted was packed to the gills and had two sets of rear wheel weights. the 300 is a little more appealing to most people.

I weighed my 1950 H Farmall with 1 set of wheel weights, no fluid in tires, NF, 1/2 tank of gas, & swinging drawbar; 4200 lbs.

Guy Fay's data book, which is about as accurate as you can get unless you actually weigh the two tractors says 3725 for the H, 4700 for the 300. These tractors, particulary the H are probably not fully equipped. The final weight depends on how many wheel weights at 145 lbs apiece, loaded tires or not, and other equipment. Easy to get an H to weigh 4500 lbs, 5000 not out of reach, add 500 or more lbs for the 300. 5500 for an H is a little steep, although not impossible. I have weighed my Super H, one set weights, no loaded tires, aftermarket 3 point. Exact weight escapes me, but it is close to 4500 +/- 100. Many of the books and web sites simply do not have the correct information, and really need to be taken with a considerable amount of salt.

Our 54 Super H just got weighted in came in at 3800Lbs, This is with no weights, hydrolics, no nothing! Yet the 46 H we have has 3 sets of weights, loader, 7foot fisher plow, chains. And came in at like 6000lbs. (she is abit sluggy in 5th) :') Andrew

What is the difference between a 300 and a 350 other than 3+HP? Glenn F.
