Well been busy with a fresh load of baby calves but time to look back to the Farmalls...just had a couple questions about the old M"s

Got one 12V M that has spark to all four spark plugs but it won"t fire for nothing, not sure at all about that....

Another 6V M has power up to the points but that"s it, it doesn"t go any further

Not sure if you guys need any more info but if you do just ask..really appreciate all the help, be nice to see these two girls out running again...THANKS

Josh

Make sure you have battery voltage (12 or 6) AT the coil. Low voltage (bad switch) will cause this problem.

Put some FRESH fuel in first!!
Gasoline gets old in about a month so get rid of the old stuff. Besides, summer gas doesn"t work well in cold temps.

The 12V M might just need points cleaned up or replaced. A spark outside the cylinder doesn't necessarily mean a spark under compression. I'd also check the timing, someone might've mixed up the wires.

You may need new sparkplugs if you have fire at the plugs. Are you sure gas is getting to the
carburetor? This could the problem too.

On the othe tractor with fire at the points. Check for fire at your sparkplugs. No fire at plug wires. You may need a new rotor, cap and plug wires that have copper wire. Hal

The 12V M we bought last summer and ran pretty good up til just recently, all four spark plugs have spark but nothing happens, and there is gas getting to the carburetor.

The 6V M hasn"t been running in ten years but all the electrical stuff, meaning the wires, cap, spark plugs, and points were all replaced. Just got a whim one day to try and get it going, but it wouldn"t go either.
