On one of my 1086's after starting it takes a 20 to 30 seconds before I get steering or clutch.
The suction tube seal and pump are good and not very old. What else might cause this? It sets in a heated shop, oil level is good and every thing works great after 30 seconds or so.
Not a big deal but could be better. The other two 1086's never did this.
Just wondering.

Sounds like the sump check plug is not seating and draining back a bit and it takes a littel bit to get fluid back up into the system . The sump check plug is located behind the MCV on the lower right hand side and has a small littel spring that looks like a ball point pen spring or it could be a sticking flow control valve in the MCV.
