I found my B's serial number FAB39459

I found the serial number under some crud below the #1 spark plug. Its FAB39459. I believe this make it a 1939 model but I thought the serial numbers started at FAB39500.

I'VE GOT A S/N 6455 =39 B YOU CAN CHECK THE TRACTOR REGISTRY ON THE LEFT TO SEE WHAT STATES THEY ARE IN. B & B CULTIVISION

The serial numbers start at 501, but the same set of serial numbers was used for both the A and the B.

Click on the "Serial Numbers" link at the left, then click on "Farmall" (not Farmall & International) then on "A, AV, B and BN." That will give you a list showing the FIRST serial number issued for a particular year. If your serial number is between the first number of a year, and the first number of the next year, then it was made in that year. In your case, 39459, the first number for 1940 is 6744 and the first number for 1941 is 41500. 39459 is between 6744 and 41500, so your tractor was made in 1940.

Yours was made probably in NOV 1940 maybe DEC.
